Submit A Paper

Economists and professionals working in related fields are invited to submit theoretical and applied papers in all areas of economics for presentation at the Congress.

Each author may submit only ONE paper to the European Economic Association sessions and only ONE paper to the Econometric Society's sessions. The same paper can NOT be submitted to both the European Economic Association's and the Econometric Society's sessions.

During the submission process, at least ONE co-author must be a member of the association to which the paper is being submitted, or join that association before submitting.

There will be membership checks during submission so please have your membership username (for EEA this is the email address registered) and password. If your co-author is a member then please ask him / her to make the submission (the name of presenter can then be changed at a later date).

Papers submitted by people who are not members of the relative associations will be withdrawn. Furthermore, EEA members are reminded that they can only submit one paper to the EEA annual congress per membership so if a member submitted a paper to the EEA Geneva 2016, they will be contacted by the EEA Congress Coordinator and asked to renew membership. If membership is not renewed, the paper will be withdrawn.

All presenters at EEA-ESEM Lisbon 2017 must be a member of the association in which the paper is being presented (therefore all EEA session presenters must be members of the EEA and all ES presenters must be members of the ES).

Presenters can present only ONE paper in the EEA sessions and only ONE paper in the ES sessions.

FOR EEA SUBMISSIONS ONLY (ECB sponsored sessions)

Submitting a Paper to Sessions Sponsored by the European Central Bank (ECB)

In order to promote research on topics of strong policy relevance for central banks, researchers are encouraged to submit papers on:

  • Intended and Unintended Consequences of Unconventional Monetary Policy and Negative Interest Rates
  • Low Growth and Low Inflation – There to Stay? Causes, Effects and Remedies

The papers must be submitted in the same way as all other papers for the EEA congress (see above), and will be subject to the same review process. When you are submitting your paper, please choose the correct field you wish to submit to. The programme committee will liaise with the ECB to form contributed sessions from accepted papers on these topics.

Last update June 21, 2017

Accepted papers will only be included in the final programme if presenting authors have registered by May 16, 2017.

Submission will take place via the Conference Maker software. Submitters must have a Conference Maker profile before submitting a paper. If submitters have used Conference Maker for submitting to EEA-ESEM Geneva 2016, EEA Mannheim 2015 or any other congress, the profile created is still valid and can be accessed to submit to EEA-ESEM Lisbon 2017. If submitters haven't got a Conference Maker profile already, one can be created directly on the Conference Maker site.

If you have any queries about the scientific sessions, please click here and address these queries to the program chairs of the relative association to which the paper is being submitted.  Otherwise all other concerns should be addressed to eea-esem2017@mundiconvenius.pt

If you encounter problems during paper submission on the Conference Maker site, then please follow the instructions on the page.

Please note that all papers accepted to the EEA-ESEM congresses are made public as soon as the final programme is released. Therefore, by submitting a paper to EEA-ESEM Lisbon 2017, you commit to making your paper public. Updated versions of the paper can be uploaded to Conference Maker when the papers are public.
